O, Singapore!

It hasn't been great for Singaporeans living in Boston who are craving local food. Aneka Rasa, a Malaysian restaurant, shut its doors recently, and the Asian supermarket chain has prompted speculation of being in financial difficulties because they've been letting their shelves go empty.

So we were curious when, out on a couple of trips to local parks and farms with some friends, we noticed a huge "Singapore" signboard on a building off the highway. Through some GPS sleuthing, we figured out that it was a restaurant. More specifically, it was the Singapore Restaurant & Lounge in Fitchburg, Mass.

Score! Got big Singapore restaurant in the area? We decided to go check it out. Turns out it was just a Chinese restaurant. They didn't even have Singapore-style noodles! Here are pictures of the restaurant and the menu. Check out that scene from the Once Upon a Time in China Wong Fei Hong movie.
