Ethnic potluck

My research lab had an ethnic-themed potluck recently. Each of us was supposed to bring an item related to our ethnicity. One of my labmates, Jeff, is half-Chinese, and he hand prepared lots of yummy potstickers. They were so consistently made, they look factory-made! They were panfried and boiled. Alissa, half-Jewish with trace Russian, made matzo balls in chicken soup and a pink beet and potato salad. Alex, a Spaniard from Colombia with a French passport, made tapas. Kenneth and I made bo bo char char. Wow!
