Rosti faces

There was some asparagus on sale at the supermarket, so we decided to fry them up with some crispy bacon. For starch, we shredded a couple of potatoes and made rosti, said to be Switzerland's national dish. Bet they don't put smiley faces in the Alps, though.

A really simple meal, but it's quite an opportune time to tell all of you about a little mystery that has emerged in our lives. We'll call it the Case of the Missing Potato Peeler. Yup. We woke up one day and our old potato peeler, which we brought over from Singapore, was gone! Vanished! We still have no idea where it went. So anyway, we figured, hey, possessions are all temporary anyway, right? Went on Amazon.com and got ourselves a new, better peeler, from OXO of Good Grips fame.

And the new peeler is really something. Peeling those potatoes was like slicing through soft butter! What a wonderful feeling it was. Change can be good.
