Birthday blender

Thanks to Daryl, Xiaojuan and Idina for a couple of really neat birthday gifts, which we've already opened and used. We were pretty excited about that does-everything stick made by Cuisinart. It blends, it dices, it whisks, and the word on the street is that if you whack a robber on the head with it the robber will never be back.

Anyway, first thing we did was to go out and buy a bag of chickpeas and sesame seeds to make hummus. And hummus, it turns out, is pretty easy to make. Just blending chickpeas, salt, some lime juice, toasted sesame seeds and olive oil together, then adding some paprika/red pepper powder and parsley just before serving. The hummus sample in the picture doesn't have parsley in it (lazy lah). But still turned out decent.
