Nothing compears to a roast

We've started to roast our pears. Kenneth caught a glancing shot of some pears being roasted on TV, went online to understand what it was all about, and we've realized that roasted pears taste pretty nice. The pears are placed cut side down in a bit of butter and sugar, and cooked in an oven until they're soft and a little brown around the edges. Really tasty. And it seems to work with all sorts of pears, too. The ones in this photo are Asian pears. Yah, quite blasphemous, right? But it tastes nice, so, whatever. We usually eat our pears with salads, which really adds a bit more substance to all the green leafies.
