Chowderfest!

Clam chowder time! It's Boston's 27th annual chowderfest, where different restaurants compete to prepare the best chowder, voted by the public. There were 8 or 9 different restaurants taking part, and by the end of it, we were terribly full. After trying the first few stalls, we quickly realized that we should share the samples, instead of each taking a sample cup. I never realized that there are so many ways to prepare clam chowder - chunky/dilute, more/less clammy, more/less vegetably, milky, starchy, herby, etc. Among all the friends who went along, we concluded that we weren't too impressed with the overall quality of all the chowder. Somehow, each had some flaw and none was perfect. Such harsh critics. But one was actually sour - weird! OK, let's stick to Legal Sea Foods or Ned Devine's pub. Photo credit: thanks, Idina :-)

Clam Chowder!
Yeah actually the Legal Seafood one is still the most drinkable... despite my unwillingness to admit that these well known chains are good. I think I will be planning a trip to the US sometime, hopefully before all of you leave!
