Steamed fish

Look! A home-cooked meal that all our parents will be proud of. A couple of old friends came to town this past July 4th weekend and we prepared a familiar Chinese meal together. Fresh steamed tilapia, stuffed mushrooms, stir-fried veggies and pickles with white and brown (9:1 ratio) rice. How comforting. Kenneth has just discovered the joy of steaming fish after acquiring a steamer recently. The steamed tilapia is seared with hot oil before serving, together with ginger slices and cilantro.

Yum yum steamed fish.

What do you mean fish seared with oil ... do you actually put the steamed fish in a pan of oil, or do you just mean heating the oil and pouring it over the fish just before serving?
