New toy!

Thanks Wenyuan and Stef! Those two came to stay at our place for a few days, and forgot to bring home their two-quart ice cream maker. What a good turn of fortune for us. We decided not to waste the opportunity, and proceeded to make some avocado ice cream. It turned out to be really easy and really yummy. We blended about two and a half avocados (one of them was overripe so we only used part of it) with about 1.5 cups of whole milk, a half-cup of honey and a twist of lime juice. Then we mixed in one cup of heavy cream. Chilled it in the fridge, then placed it in the ice cream maker until it was ready. Avocados are pretty amazing stuff. Probably because of the texture of the fruit, we didn't have to use eggs at all or cook anything.
The ice cream actually came out a little on the sweet side, so maybe next time we'll use only 1/3 cup of honey. Will probably throw in a bit of vanilla as well, and maybe use some milk powder for to try to make it into gelato. Again, thanks to WY and stef. Wish you could be here to try!
