here comes the sun

It's been some time since the last post, and that's because we've been away in Florida, the Sunshine State. We spent about six days in the Everglades and the Keys with five wonderful friends, and we saw and ate a whole bunch of stuff. Lots of Key lime pie, seafood, Cuban fare and the best Nicaraguan food in the world. Since this is a food blog, and we didn't take pictures of our meals during the trip, the only food-related photo that we could find was this one of Lynette checking out oranges at a roadside fruit stand.
There are a couple of interesting stories from this fruit stand, though. The guy who was running it told us that he actually studied in Cambridge, Mass., where we are now, and that he moved home to Florida because his father was sick. There's a cat at the stand, and it's named Katrina because it showed up the day after the hurricane of the same name blew past the region. To Katrina: Here comes the sun, and I say, it's all right.
