Strawberry surprise

We just found the best strawberries we've ever tasted, and they were lying in little shrubs at a u-pick farm in Concord, Mass.It was a warm and sunny summer Saturday and we decided to pick strawberries in the morning, have a picnic lunch and then go kayaking. Good plan!
We found Verrill Farm in Concord and it turned out to be a really good choice. Their strawberries were so sweet and it turned out that they kept pretty well (although we finished our strawberries in a couple of days so we didn't really push any boundaries here). The strawberries were mostly small too, about the size of cherries, and each one was like a taste explosion when popped in the mouth. It was the first u-pick for Kenneth and he couldn't stop raving about it. He went to the grocery store on Monday and wouldn't even consider buying those strawberries. Those strawberries were amazing. We were eating as we were picking, and we probably ate half of what we eventually brought back during the picking. The strawberries were cheap too.
It was such a wonderful day. At one point, philosopher Trevor blurted out: "I pity everyone who isn't out with us today."
