The Birds

Oohl for the birds. We hung a bird feeder out in the tiny front yard outside our apartment about a month or so ago, and no birds came. One day, a little sparrow discovered it, and told his friends, brothers, sisters, uncle and aunties about it. Very soon, our front yard was like the mall for the birds. In the pic, most of them are on the ground. There was so much commotion, even the neighbor's cat came to check out what's going on. I saw the local squirrel (the same one who nibbled at our pumpkin) try to get to the feeder, but he couldn't, haha.Based on my observations, the ratio of arrivals for sparrows : blue jays : red cardinals is about 80 : 2 : 1. They devour the entire feeder in about a day. Look, they even pecked the feeder hole into bits! They must be hungry, so we went to Home Depot and bought a 10-lb bag of feed. I decided that the birds will appreciate consistency and we will top it up once a week during the weekends.
