Berry good!

One of the many nice things about New England summers is that it's berry season. That means strawberries in June and blueberries in July.

Last year we were up in Maine and we had a great time with wild blueberries. This year, we went to a farm instead. The blueberries in the wild were on low, below-knee-height bushes, but this farm out in Sudbury, Mass. had bushes that were as tall as we were. The berries were just as sweet.

We got us a bunch, picking to bring home and eating on the spot at the same time. Kenneth thinks the blueberry is his favorite type of berry.

We went home and the next day we made blueberry pancakes for a late lunch. Yummy.

How nice to be so closed to fresh berries. It reminds me of blueberry (canned ones)cake I used to bake for the family.
